"Last year we changed our strategy
of handling the foals at our Waxwing Stud by handing the job over to help4horses - and what a good decision it proved
to be. Somehow their patient handling and attention to detail paid off in double quick time. We couldn't believe it as
we witnessed head collars going on and off without fuss and hooves being picked up without a struggle. When we saw previously
unhandled foals leaving their dams and being led up and down the ramp of the lorry, all within a few occasions of being led,
it all seemed unbelievable. help4horses will definitely have the job from now on and we're looking forward to visits
to the stud in the not too distant future." Tom Best & David Blair, Waxwing Stud,
Fife
Just wanted to give you an update on Dougall
- my Highland gelding - who you came and did some work with earlier this year out in West Lothian. His main problem was a very extreme and violent fear of vets and needles,
which had meant his teeth had gone un-rasped for some time. Just thought you'd like to know,
that the vet came last week (13th attempt over 2 years!), and it was a success!!!
He was sedated with the minimum of resistance/grumpiness, and his teeth are now rasped!! This is fantastic, as 2 years ago, the vet couldn't actually get anywhere near him
- he started to throw a massive tantrum the second he spied the vet's car! So, thank you so much for your help (the vet was amazed too!) - whilst Dougall will never be an angel,
it has helped enormously!
Jo Wilson, West
Lothian
I cannot thank you both enough for helping Megan and me with our loading issues - everthing
was done so calmly and stress-free (for everyone involved!) and you spent the time showing me what to do so we can continue
to load without problems Jane
Grey, Fife
I didn't think I had a "problem horse" as such but just wanted to set
some boundaries so that I didn't get pushed and pulled around by my horse. Your simple groundwork sessions
have been a great help and I now feel a stronger bond with him. Thanks again. Hazel Hutton, Edinburgh
After many frustrating
hours spent trying to load my horse over several weekends I was astonished that after just a couple of short ground work sessions
she walked in in less than 15 mins and was completely calm about the whole thing - amazing! Anne Beard, Fife
Thanks for showing me some simple groundwork exercises that I can do with my 2 year old.
This has helped with his manners, trust in me and our confidence. I also do some of them with my
retired horse as it helps to keep him supple and interested in life! Louise Shaw, Fife
